Anywhere from post-grunge acoustic, to moody aggressive rock…from electronic inspired metal, to the psycho-punk horrorbilly of The Dead Elvi, Jason Fresta’s music is all over the map.
His solo debut CD “We’re All Mad Here” from 2005 can best be described as post-grunge acoustic. In the style of Alice in Chains and David Bowie, the singer/songwriter has written, recorded and produced the full 15 track album entirely in his basement on a standard PC.
After joining up with goth-rockers The Dead Elvi in 2008, Jason’s musical focus took a more terrifying tone, trading up his signature acoustic guitar for a more distorted rockabilly Gretsch! Jason entered the studio with The Dead Elvi in 2010 and immediately released the 4 song EP entitled “A Taste of Blood” featuring the first new Elvi tracks in over 5 years, shortly followed by their 3rd full length album “Pretty Dead” in 2011!
“Pretty Dead” features some of the Elvi’s most popular tracks including “Lucha Libre”, a song celebrating Mexican monster/wrestling movies, “Voodoo Raygun”, a good old fashioned zombie shoot’em up, “The One”, about the Devil and his power, and “Goth Girls”, a fond homage to our favorite pale-skinned ladies in black!
The Dead Elvi are the focal point of the New Jersey Chiller Theatre Fan Expo’s Saturday Night Party! During these performances, The Elvi are often honored on stage by the presence of the conventions musical guests.
